Happy to be of help! If you are hunting for shortcuts, it's worth mentioning that @Overdrijf explained the algorithm in one of his really useful training videos (start at 2:32):

Thanks @HerrNove! I think it is the problem explained in the Penalty Oddities thread. I indeed used the dirt road going left, right before the Loop. I was curious if it would give me a penalty. It didn't so I thought I was clever and found a need shortcut. But I guess I triggered that bug.
I also tried other tracks, and redriving this track without using that stretch of dirt road en both times the game registers fine. So this only proves your theory. And as you can guess, I'm a pretty big noob for these kind of things so thanks again HerrNove!

Never seen this case, but you might want to try checking the forum. E.g. here: Penalty oddities and here: Two Lap Race (Bug) . Have you driven on some of the broken paths?

I'm convinced there will be next rounds @herrNove. But for now a new problem arises, for some reason the game isn't registering me crossing the finish line anymore. So you can see how that can be a problem. Already laid the question at my teammates but if anyone else nows this problem, feel free to chip in.

Can you read my mind @HerrNove? But I think our battle is decided for now. That six seconds jump is a quite big one that I can't over come with perfecting lines in the last sector.

It was a nice first duel @Mortimer and I think there will be further rounds, my replay is far from perfect. This race feels as if @Overdrijf had read my driver's profile and decided to build my ideal track, that's why I feel obliged to honor his work In my opinion the key here is how to exploit fast grass perfectly and decide when and where to drive on the slow grass (Argammon won the last race because of this last topic). Only thing that may spoil my party is if someone finds non-trivial aerial moves with the loop & the corks: but for that I will wait the first replays of the top dogs.

@Mortimer we need to be quick before the masters arrive

OK, this is my first try. And now I'm feeling a little bit dizzy.
