  • Duplode
Looks like we have a new winner! Congratulations dreadnaut!
  • Shoegazing Leo
Italian pipsqueaks: winning whithout talk, because it's impossible to drive while speak in Italian (which hands will last to drive?).
  • Cas
Happy Birthday, Imperas! And congratulations, Dreadnaut!
  • Zak McKracken
quiet replays now published, change at the top!

Oct 2

  • Imperas
    Thank yall! Smiley
  • Zak McKracken
Both Imperas and FinRok's replays have plenty of penalty time. Correction in progress...
  • Zak McKracken
scoreboard should be final now. Congrats dreadnaut! Imperas / FinRok - please make sure to check your replays for penalty next time!!!
  • dreadnaut
I'm back and... I appear to have won a race, which is shocking! Shocked I must thank Duplode for not trying to hard, and FinRok for overtaking me and forcing me to find neater and neater cuts!
  • dreadnaut
It only took me *five* years! Cheesy
  • FinRok
Congrats! @Dreadnaut Yes if i only found the cut before the bridge you you guys did i focused too much improving the end part which i pretty much got perfect! Cheesy
  • dreadnaut
Yep, if we put together your ending with Duplode's cut corners, we might shave another half-second, if not more!

Oct 3

  • Friker
    CONGRATULATIONS! Fleas ftw! Smiley

Oct 4

  • dreadnaut
Thank Friker! And nice track, Cas Smiley You can almost finish the lap upside-down!
  • Cas
Ha, ha... Thanks, Dreadnaut! I like making tracks fast and crazy
  • In other news

One two... testing? Dreadnaut here, writing in the space that has always been Zak's own. What is happening? Read on for the details!

    ZakStunts duties

It turns out Zak is quite busy building a new house out of Lego and beer crates, if I understand correctly, so we'll be helping him with running the competition. There's an ongoing discussion on the forum about possible tasks to pick up (writers, track designers, etc.) so have a look!

    The season so far

October has arrived and there are only three track left until the end of the 2017 season. It's a year of new names and strong results, both on the main scoreboard and the GAR races.

Imperas and Artur have been very consistent and their replays are moving up on the scoreboards. Seeker1982 has joined mid-year and seems to enjoy the GAR races the most, duelling with Marco about 5 seconds faster than all the others.

Leading the pack is FinRok, who might not win every race, but has collected tons of LTB points —feels like 2013 again! Duplode is close by, but it seems that real life might be claiming more of his time in the next months. Can that suspiscious dreadnaut gain another position? Is the season podium decided? Does anyone want to do the math?

    Race 4 Kicks

Don't forget that Cas' own competition is running in parallel. Fixed cars and OWOOT rules make for a distinct challenge, so try a lap there when you are frustrated with that difficult loop cut or powergear corner!

Oct 5

  • Cas
Thanks for the advertising, Dreadnaut! Yeah, Race 4 Kicks is an OWOOT tournament. Differences from GAR are that NoRH is optional, it's a different race (a different track, different deadline) and there's a fixed car per race (always one of the fast cars). The reason it's like that is to resemble World Stunts Championship, ran by Paleke years ago, where I started racing Stunts for the first time.
  • Cas
So... is anybody going to post a GAR time for this track? I've been trying to. It's difficult, but it has to be possible.
  • FinRok
@Cas I tried once with Lotus but i landed on the tunnel roof Cheesy
  • Cas
Oh! Is the double-jump possible at all with the Lotus? Shocked
  • FinRok
It is but youll have to brake in correct time before the last jump, only needs little practice. IMO
  • Cas
    Oh, you did it! Shocked
  • dreadnaut
Happy Birthday, Akoss! Join us for a lap when you feel like it Smiley

Oct 6

  • Cas
    Happy Birthday, Akoss Poo!

Oct 7

  • Cas
Thanks to the guys who've participated in R4K so far! There are three days left still. Replays will be valid up to the deadline date "inclusive", UTC (that is, until the last second of 10 October).

Oct 8

  • dreadnaut
Wooo! I managed to finish the lap upside down Smiley

Oct 9

  • Cas
Ha, ha! That was a good one!

Oct 10

  • Seeker1982
seems that my run is the first serious GAR-Lap Could have been a sub 1:36,0 but for the time being I think it`s good.

Oct 12

  • FinRok
Nice GAR! SCheeter 1982 you using DOsBox? Daum SvN with save states? and video editor hahaha. otherswise you're cyborgh!
  • FinRok
@Seeker1982 you gotta proof your lap and drive in live! Record your lap with cell phone for certificate or something! Those times are crazy... if so I tip my hat for you!
  • Seeker1982
@Finrok - I use DOSbox Daum-SVN, and yes I have recorded them realtime etc - I just havn't uploaded them yet since I'm still improving my times and I haven't even yet tried the Lotus until this last run. And btw - I thought Marco already approved my times clean - guess I'm a "cyborgh"
  • Seeker1982
new Lotus lap - btw: DOSbox SVN Daum is the only Dosbox-version/SVN I know which has working recording capabilities
  • Cas
Seeker: I agree the time is really amazing for NoRH! However, I think jumping over the slalom is not allowed in GAR... and I'm sure driving over a tunnel isn't either (I learnt that one with my own experience Sad )
  • Seeker1982
@GAS: What replay were you watching? I definitely didn't drove over the tunnel, I might just look like that if viewed from above - the roof gets removed so the car can be seen. You just have to downdlowd the replay file and watch in cockpit view. Or did you mean the pipe? And the concrete block "slalom": in the GAR v3-Rules-vid it only says not to drive THROUGH them, it doesn't say anything about jumping - anyways I was over the road and still followed the straight yellow line.
  • Seeker1982
sorry, I just noticed where I actually drove over a tunnel. I'm so used to it from my own driving stile I didn't notice it first time around. Seems I do have to do a clean run.. damn
  • Seeker1982
new GAR lap, this time around without driving over tunnels - I figured I can do 800ßrpm in last gear to make it into the tunnel

Oct 13

  • Cas
Yep, mate, it was the second tunnel. Very easy to end up on top of it. About the slaloms, I just suspected, but really had never heard it was wrong to jump over them.
  • Seeker1982
my 1st time below 1:29 in RH Smiley However, I just can't figure out how to skip the loop
  • Seeker1982
I'm almost back to my original GAR-time Cheesy
  • Cas
Well, skipping loops is one of the things that are the hardest for me to do. Another is skipping corks through the left side, although, since I can do it easily on the right site, I haven't tried much to better that one.

Oct 14

  • Seeker1982
sorry for kinda spamming, but I just drove a unbelievable time - sub 1:35 with GARules. Since I expect you want realtime video proof - here's the video:
  • dreadnaut
That's a mix of extreme skill, and a bit of luck Cheesy Not one unexpected bump or jump, brilliant! Btw, you can hide/show replay recorder and dashboard directly pressing R or D, no need to go to the menu.
  • dreadnaut
Here's a more relaxed GAR result Smiley
  • Cas
    Spectacular laps, guys!!! Cheesy
  • Seeker1982
new RH-Lap - I think that it's as fast as possible without cutting the loop
  • FinRok
Hey something is wrong as i tried upload my lap? It says here that it ended up in crash? and that's not right! i completed perfect lap without crash!!!
  • dreadnaut
It happens with some replays that appear "cut" at the end. Could you try to drive the last second / half-second again, and save a new one?
  • FinRok
    $hit @ss f0ck it works ! Cheesy

Oct 15

  • dreadnaut
Sigh, and now I have to start again with another cars... at least it's the Lotus! Smiley
  • Seeker1982
guess the same, alought I already tried the Lotus in GAR where the effective times were slower

Oct 22

  • dreadnaut
    Hello Motorhead86!

Oct 23

  • Motorhead86
Raced for the slowest possible time lol.

Oct 24

  • Cas
Oh! It's not getting to the podium because the LM001 is very slow, but considering that fact, that must be a really good time!

Oct 27

  • FinRok
    Happy Birthday Marco!!
  • dreadnaut
    Indeed, Happy Birthday Marco!

Oct 28

  • dreadnaut
    There, I wrote a little something: http://zak.stunts.hu/articles/dreadnaut-and-five-years-of-zakstunts
  • Duplode
Lovely article, dreadnaut! I like that you posted it precisely while I was finishing this lap Smiley
  • Cas
Happy birthday, Marco!! Duplode, I knew you weren't going to be absent on this race! Cheesy
  • Motig
Fin just please tell me how you make the big jump? HOW?
  • Cas
Great article, Dreadnaut! I saw it there yesterday, but I was going to bed, so I thought I'd read it well today. Count on me to keep on pushing good-old Stunts to the future!
  • FinRok
  • Duplode
    Wow, that sounds impressive!

Oct 29

  • Cas
Wow! First place with the Acura! Never would've expected it. Amazing!
  • dreadnaut
Quiet replays published! Another Acura up there Tongue
  • dreadnaut
Well done cutting that first corner so close to the hill, FinRok! I tried quite a few times, but I could not get it right.
  • FinRok
Nice! I'm already almost drunk cheers! : Pints upp nice going @dreadnaut -
  • Cas
Cool, FinRok! I love that sound!
  • FinRok
Thanks guys! I'm little tipsy sorry about that, what do you guys drink where youre from? "fernet branca" here booze , vodka or beer usually, but im drinking homebrew!! take that!! Cheesy
  • Cas
Well, I don't drink, but here, Fernet Branca is particularly popular, with Coke. Of course, it's Italian, but it's the number one preference over here in parties. I am not a party guy and I stick to soda water, ha, ha. Party, for me, is playing music all night Smiley
  • FinRok
ah i just drink when ever i get possibility, i'm alcoholic of somekind, i dont even get the "hype" anymore when ever i start taking the "cup" it's too short but im truing to be happy,! haha im sounding like a depressed person i am! Cheesy

Oct 30

  • dreadnaut
Update happening, I think. Give me a few minutes Tongue
  • dreadnaut
I think I managed Smiley Scoreboard final, new track ready!
  • Cas built that

ZCT195 closes with an unusual scoreboard: three different cars in the first six places! We have to go back to 2014 to find a similar result, for ZCT160.

During the first half of the race, the Jaguar was leading the pack with a convincing advantage. But what could have been two weeks of small improvements suddenly changed to a Lotus race, only minutes after the public replay deadline. FinRok jumped to the lead, and stayed there for the rest of the race, doubling his LTB hours.

So, two weeks left, is this a Lotus race now? Sort of! The Jaguar is still doing well, but in the shadows people were experimenting with the Acura. And the final podium sees indeed two quiet Acura replays, followed by Duplode's last-minute improvement and switch from Jaguar to Lotus.

    The tenth champion?

If FinRok were to look in the side-mirrors of his overall score, Duplode would look quite small, more than twenty points behind. Is this the final podium? Can anything happen, or should we be ready to crown the 10th champion in ZakStunts history?

On the team scoreboard Cork's Crew is still in the lead, but Slowdrive is catching up fast, accelerated by the consistent good results of Cas, Leo and Marco.

    On to the next track

The end of October brings autumn for the european racers, spring from South America, and a new track for ZakStunts. ZCT196 is short and quite simple, should be nice for GAR and fast cars. But the LM002 has a ridiculous 50% bonus this time, and some of the mid-range cars might travel the alternative route fast enough. Which way then? Which car?

Strap in safe, and show us your best time!

  • dreadnaut
Er... small track fix for balance, please redownload!
  • satanziege
Kompetenzcenter is back! Nice to race again in 2017!
  • Shoegazing Leo
I got my Zakstunts' best result ever, 6th, racing only the first days.

Oct 31

  • Cas
There goes my first replay Smiley
  • Shoegazing Leo
You must update the track's image.
  • dreadnaut
It should be up-to-date, your browser might be caching it. Ctrl-F5?
  • Shoegazing Leo
    Now it's OK.
