-
MarcoHi Friker, how are you ??
-
FrikerHello, Marco. I am sick, getting better and working. Not a good combination but it could be much worse. I might do Audi GAR replay. What about you? Still hating Yellow Fleas? I expect your promised return.

-
MarcoHi Friker, are you on Flu ? Hope you will feel better asap ... Oh, I never hated someone here. Especially the fleas !!! ) Well , unfortunately I have become the oldest here since Anelio suddenly passed away and my 35 years of Dos Games , my son, my house ... my job .... I have no enough time for a so competitive championship. Yes my great friend Rok won the very first race ... maybe he was simply lucky , well if he will win again, I will return for some races !!!!!! Now it's a real promise !!!
-
Alan RotoiSend listfillers at least... or we'll call you Bernie

MarcoAlan you have 6th victory while i have only 4th... do you really want to be overtaken in the medal table by Bernie )))

-
arturbmallmannThx every one! i'm a old fan of stunts, i just knew about zakStunts this week! I don't even realized that the replay files would be so useful.
-
FrikerBernie was fine. The second part is planned on today.
-
FrikerWhat's with Audi? Does it have a chance?
-
arturbmallmannLittle better
Mar 10
-
FinRokjump the queue with my topped time, reaching the limit with nice 00's
-
Friker:00 seems to be a strong time indeed. I wonder how long it could stand at the top. Btw - any chance for Audi?
-
FrikerI guess not very long
-
FinRokNot chance with Audi i guess @Friker so you're messing around with 10+ sec gap? I'm sure you can do better than that, it's too obvious! =D
Mar 11
-
FrikerI am not messing around with 10+ sec gap. I sure can do better but do not have time.
Mar 12
-
FrikerBtw - Leading times: dreadnaut 0:57.100 Lambo 02-25 13:35. ".100"?
-
FrikerI think you've already lost a +2 LTB bonus, don't you? Nice try. Maybe I can save dreadnaut's +1
-
Imperaswow..what a big challenge among F&F I'm looking forward to discover who will win
-
FrikerSo what time do you have?
-
Shoegazing LeoIt's a f... duel.
Mar 13
-
arturbmallmannWow, 0:54! nice duel! I believe on 0:53.xx! keep playing! hehe
-
Shoegazing LeoBÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖFFFFF!!!
-
arturbmallmannHey, leo! I was happy winning from you! :/ hehehe
-
Shoegazing LeoOdair José said that hapiness doesn't exist. What exist are the happy moments.
Mar 17
-
FrikerWhat? Why did FinRok get 1 leading bonus hour?
-
dreadnautTrue, leading time should stop increasing once the race reaches the quiet days. Luckily it doesn't seem to upset the balance.
Mar 18
-
FrikerThere is correct amount of leading hours distributed - 101. But it is weird that they are split to 100 + 1. And that one hour is given because of non-quiet replay sent in quiet days. It is incorrect behaviour to me. So there are two bugs found this month in LTB table (another one is that xx.100 hundreds of seconds bug). Can someone fix it? Dreadnaut/Zak?
-
FinRokhaha yes, now i only need to upload 20+ non quiet replays to gain 2+ LTB
-
MarcoYou have uploaded the 16th at 23.59, so you still were in no quiet or i m wrong
-
DuplodeMarco: that replay was sent in the 17th at 19:50 (as shown in the canonical "All Results" table). What happens is that, for the purposes of LTB calculation, public replays sent in the quiet days have their submission time to the last minute before quiet days, so that the counter stops increasing. (That said, there is one potential distortion of the results: if you weren't leading at the start of the quiet days and send the last public leading time during the quiet days, you will "steal" exactly one LTB hour from whoever was the leader at the start of the quiet days.)
Mar 19
-
Alan RotoiHaha damn time... I just started to late. A rusty replay sent.
-
Shoegazing LeoI slept like a baby and lost the chance to improve in the last hour.
-
Alan RotoiI think the best car was Audi, but hadn't time for prove it
-
Zak McKrackenquiet replays published! update later...
-
MarcoAlso if I'm retired, because of the name of this circuit, I could not miss it. To win is a surprise and a great honour and this winning is full 100% tribute dedicated to Anelio. Congrats to my great friend Rok and Friker. For all the month, your F&F competition has honoured this race tribute.
-
FinRokWow! Holy crap! Marco! Your entree for main event came like from nowhere. So Great Congrats are in place!
-
Alan RotoiCould you please watch my replay? Take a look at the 1st bridge trick. I think you'll like it
-
Alan RotoiUnfortunatly I had no time to complete a good lap but I think this was a winning trick/car.
-
DuplodeCongratulations, Marco -- brilliant victory! Alan: that is a beautiful trick -- even more so with the short-jumping Audi -- though it is not entirely clear if it could make Audi the winning car, as Marco pulled it off with the Countach. In any case, I think it would be very close: for, as you have said, there were several easy seconds to be shaved from your lap. Also note that among the top 5 only FinRok managed a successful u/d cork drop, so that's another way in which this might have played out differently.
-
DuplodeRemarkably, ZCT187 is the first race to have a podium entirely made of racers who had their debuts in the "modern age" of ZakStunts.
-
FrikerCongrats, Marco & FinRok. I am impressed - maybe I am the only one who has not done u/d corkscrew skip yet. You had superior tricks - and that's much more pleasant to watch that clean ride. Alan, I do not think Audi could win (I can see about 3-4 more seconds to be shaved off but no more). Duplode - "modern era" - you mean racers registered after you (my first race was in january 2009 - pissing off Mark L. Rivers who ended his participation back then - I think he suspected me to be another ghost of CTG)?
Mar 20
-
We had an amazing race on ZCT187! Racers went all in for the honor of Aburaf and we had an amazing battle both for the leading time and the final victory.
Initially dreadnaut gathered quite many leading hours, but soon he was overtaken by Friker and FinRok who battled throughout the month - FinRok was the fastest, while Friker won the battle for the leading time. At the very end, Marco, our recently retired top racer has came and won by quite a margin.
Congrats to all! So in the end we have three racers with 12 points earned each. A fair result :)
Many of you have an amazing collection of stunts tracks and replays - and so does Cas. So he suddenly pulled out a track from 2006 from his archives. A track made by Aburaf himself, as a possible competition track for Paleke's championship. A track forgotten for 11 years, never raced by the community - now it is you turn to try Abu's creation. It is easier than usual, so GAR participation is also encouraged! :)
-
arturbmallmannWow, what a great surprise see what happened here. Nice competition, congrats: Marco, Fin and Friker! and all people who make this happen!
-
arturbmallmannThe Season's Standings table is incorrect. It doesn't computes the quiet times.
-
DuplodeArtur: Well spotted -- I guess the points in the season table will update themselves once Zak does the second part of the update (i.e. publishes the new track), though I don't know/remember the mechanics of what the site is doing in this case.
-
DuplodeFriker: By "modern era" I mean 2008 and beyond, with the introduction of the car bonus system in ZCT080 being the landmark event. (Note that, though I do believe this is a reasonable periodisation, I have made up this "modern era" term while writing that comment )
-
Zak McKrackenseasonal standings updated (with LTB). New track out hopefully tonight!
-
Marcowhat has happened Duplode? You have placed a quiet that was slower than the already visible F&F laptime. I m sure that you have slowed down at the end of the 2016 championship but i was also sure that you would started super strong in 2017. The most titulated racer in the history of Zak Stunts cannot start with a 3rd and a 4th place against us.
-
MarcoRegarding Audi Vs Countach, there s no doubt , with 8% on this track the Countach super win !!!
-
MarcoCountach is a dialect term of my italian region ... it means something like OMG that's what you could say looking at this car for the first time. The eighties Lamborghini Countach with the spoiler is one of the most beautiful car ever in history.
-
arturbmallmannBut Countach could be I little better on stunts, from all original cars his performance is the most disappointing IMHO.
-
Zak McKrackenthe new track is out
-
FrikerWhat the.. track? I wonder what car will win..
-
Shoegazing LeoSooner I'll try with all cars
-
Shoegazing LeoYes... I raced using all 16 cars...
-
DuplodeThe "All results" list looks great right now

CasHey, guys. This is AbuRaf's track, but if I remember correctly, it wasn't called "Acacia Avenue". A track with that name exists, but it's not this one. It's a track by Gutix, if I'm not mistaken, that also participated in the track building contest. I have to verify what I'm say, but I'm pretty sure it's like that.
-
CasI have found the Acacia Avenue track. It doesn't say whose it is, but it's not this one. I'll post it in the forum.
Mar 22
-
arturbmallmannOh man!! Marco and Fin just made amazing runs!! claps to you, guys.
-
DuplodeI remember Acacia Avenue, and I'm almost sure it was indeed designed by Gutix. It was the track of the May 2007 round of WSC. It was the third race I took part of after joining the community, about two weeks earlier. (By the way, here is a link to the forum post: Guest tracks 2017
-
DuplodeAlso, this is Acacia Avenue:
-
FinRok@Duplode when i first saw this new trackname Acacia Avenue and i immediately remembered that the Iron Maiden also had song named like this

dreadnautTrack renamed

CasHa, ha... this really is the perfect solution
Mar 26
-
DuplodeHere is something slightly closer to the mark.
-
Alan RotoiI have serious problems with dosbox (just like the last 2 years)
-
DuplodeAlan: (1) Did DOSBox work well for you in the past? If so, I wonder if any change in your system might have led to that. (2) Are you using any specific configuration for DOSBox? I can send you the one I am currently using, if you want to test it.
-
Duplode(By "change in your system", by the way, I don't necessarily mean anything you have done. It might be e.g. a newer version of Windows acting up -- I have never tried Stunts on any Windows newer than 7.)
-
MarcoI m using dosbox on win10...no problem. Rememebe to speed up dos box with ctrl+shift F12 at almost 12000 to 15000 cpu cycles
Mar 27
-
Alan RotoiI'm using it on a win7. I found an older version (0.72) that works better than the newest but anyway sometimes I have problems with the sound i.e. it's like after 20 mins the game runs in segments... impossible to use. I speedup 'til 40k cpu cycles and works again but few mins later again the same problem.
-
Alan RotoiSorry about my english, it gets worse when I'm angry
-
DuplodeThese are weird symptoms, specially the facts that 0.72 works better, and that raising cycles to 40k (!) actually brings some sort of improvement. I have sent you my configuration -- not sure if it will make a difference, but at least it might help setting some sort of baseline.
-
Duplode(In any case, I have seen some sound glitches with DOSBox -- in particular, some or all of the sounds sometimes disappear in long sessions, or after alternating between windows. I found it helps to always pause DOSBox with Alt+Pause whenever I leave it open without actively using it.)
-
Zak McKrackenAlan: In my case a computer bios update solved my Dosbox problems.
-
FinRokhmm! very strange that bios could affect software /dosbox problems?
-
Zak McKrackenit was something with the keyboard response time / buffer.
Mar 28
-
Alan RotoiThanks!! I'll check both solutions! I think Zak may be closer because sometimes I have problems in every program/game. It also may be a problem of temperature
-
CasIn my opinion, whatever causes the problem, it does by demanding more CPU than expected (e.g.: than the system reports) or by demanding the expected amount, but more frequently than expected. DOSBox at a high frequency is very demanding and in my case, makes music a little bit glitchy, but it doesn't matter because the game runs well. At low frequencies, the music is perfect, but the game becomes very uncomfortable to play. However, the last Windows I've ever used is 98SE. After that, I'm exclusively a Linux guy. Sorry about proselytism, but I feel the moral urge to invite people to try GNU/Linux as their primary OS. It really is worth it. Windows (especially new ones) is known to be bloated with spyware. Another option is to install FreeDOS. Stunts runs beautifully there. It's what I did before I fixed my DOSBox.
-
MarcoSince Windows came out, the First thing I do when I buy a new PC is to make a partition where there is only the OS, the Drivers and my common applications including DosBox... at that point I make a Ghost Image of the hardisk . Each 5, 6 months, I format all and reinstall the ghost. It's the only clean solution to live with Windows. Obviously, all my data are in other HDs
Mar 29
-
FinRokI'm still using Windows XP SP3 when i play with Dosbox works better then on my Win7 x64 partition which is slower. Also i can use old gameport joystick on XP (and the install i have had over 10 years without reinstall )
-
FinRokI also have regular PS/2 keyboard not Usb on my modern pc. I have found it still better over newer Usb keyboards i can use more buttons pressed simultaneusly and i think the keyboard response time is better over hooked on usb. Never tried those new gaming keyboards with lower response time though?
-
CasFinRok, I think that has more to do with the keyboard itself than with the interface. My old keyboard was (big) DIN-5 BTC and it was great, but after years, it started to have problems. Newer keyboards, like you mentioned, would fail to recognise several keys at a time, even though they were PS/2. So I bought a gaming keyboard (also PS/2) that is now old and it's still working well. Recently, I've been considering buy a new gaming keyboard, a mechanical one, with springs. They are all USB I still expect it to do good. I prefer PS/2, but for other reasons, like ease of access from custom hardware. And yes, Marco, even with Linux, having the OS separated from the data is a great idea too!
