Seeker1982thx for the flowers; my birthday present was volume1+2 of a very expensive textbook about Medical TrainingTherapy (MTT; medizinische Trainingstherapie in german) and beginning to feeling fit again (before my illness I used to very capable in both endurance and strength training)

OverdrijfI completely forgot to do a musical intermezzo during the February race, but since this has been another musical track I can work it in here: ...... Been spending most our lives racing in a pipsqueak paradise Requires sacrifice racing in a pipsqueak paradise We don't cheat we all play nice racing in a pipsqueak paradise Sixth gears and powerslides racing in a pipsqueak paradise We eat reheated rice racing in a pipsqueak paradise We don't bathe we all have lice racing in a pipsqueak paradise Red Bull is our one vice racing in a pipsqueak paradise Just hyperactive guys racing in a pipsqueak paradise Hear your oponents´ cries racing in a pipsqueak paradise Pick on someone your own size racing in a pipsqueak paradise
-
OverdrijfP.S. Before anyone feels insulted: beer doesn't count as a vice. There, now I'm sure it's all a hundred percent accurate.

DuplodeThis month has truly flown by!
-
dreadnautTime's up, let's publish the quiet replays, then go to sleep
-
OverdrijfFinal stretch car twist, nice. I knew I was faster in the kart, but I had chalked that up to me being me. Also, bam, Cork doing business in the team standings.
-
MarcoAhahahh...Risto !!!
-
Stan 286XTAnd Cherry and Helene from CREW whot said? here olways man!!!
-
OverdrijfBy the way, this was race 4 of the year, and the 3rd one with 2 different cars in the top 3. We also had three races with 2 different cars in the top 3 over the entire last year. Part of this was luck, but if the 1% coefficient change is doing what we were hoping for it may become a trend. P.S. The Jaguar in particular but the LM002 and the F40 as well can still use a little positive manual bonus adjustment if the upcoming track designers have them to spare.
-
CTGOh LOL, forgot about the deadline...
May 6
-
Stan 286XTIs ready the new track?C214?
-
dreadnautScoreboard confirmed, congratulations to FinRok, Marco and Duplode!
-
dreadnautAnd now on to the next track, a tricky one by Cas!
-
OverdrijfIs that penalty time in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
-
Stan 286XTLancia DELTA HF INTEGRALE 16V is a super car!!!!! If you go on the road whit that monster it is too fast and probably police take 4 point from your driving licence. I think you go 30km/h like cheap cars you probably broke the engine 1 cyclomotour make 30km/h!!!!!
-
afulloI cannot even check Stan's replay
-
Seeker1982I too, Stans replay is broken/bugged
-
afulloIt's likely that he doesn't use BB 1.1 version of Stunts: I had a similar problem with my first replays in 2014, when I was playing with MS 1.0 version.
-
Seeker1982btw: is this track even GARable? I don't see how that one jump from the floor to the elevated road on top of the hill is possible
-
afulloIt seems to be very difficult, maybe with the Indy at 245mph powergear?
-
Seeker1982even in the Indy it's impossible - If your in powergear you only managae to crash into that elevated road from down below
-
afulloYes, it seems so by traveling at almost 200mph with the P962. Anyway, I claim LTB hours!
-
dreadnautIndeed, there is something odd with Stan's replay. Further investigation is needed. Stan, which version of Stunts are you using for racing?
-
dreadnautIf we can't fix the issue, Stan's replay will be deleted, and LTB hours recalculated accordingly.
-
OverdrijfIf the replay can´t be read by anybody else but still works on Stan´s machine he could always try to make a screen capture movie or something. Either way I´m pretty sure his actual time will for one reason or another be somewhat slower than the current number suggests.
-
OverdrijfAutomatic gear Indy on a track with several loops?
-
Stan 286XTthis is whith zs18 1.1 can read? but bb1.1 4ds 1.1 is the same things boooh
-
afulloAs far as I remember, 4D Sports is Mindscape, not Brøderbund. Compatibility is not assured.
-
OverdrijfCould you otherwise just load up your replay just before the finish and drive across the line and make a screenshot of the evaluation screen? While we do make a point of all driving on the same version of the program, there's something else going on here as well. No offense to your skills, but there's no way the Lancia is that much faster even before correction than anything we're trying.
-
Seeker1982I can view Stans latest replay and tried to recreate it with my stunts version (driving exactly the same line as stan); my raw time is about 56sec, but with time-penalties (3min 45sec) due to the massive cutting it's over 4mins as you can see in the replay I just uploaded... - I think Stan forgot to file in the Penalty time
-
afulloAnd there is no space for a flux capacitor on a car suited for rallies.
-
OverdrijfOkay, that makes sense, and kind of was what I was expecting.
-
afulloI'm on phone at the moment, from PC I will be able to check too. But I trust your test, it seems reasonable at all, fitting what is going on.
-
Seeker1982there's still the issue that the track is not GARable - even in the Porsche Indy - you have to make an exception in terms of racing line
-
OverdrijfGo between the slalom blocks in front of the obstacle and go through the cork after it, the section in between is freestyle, but still NoRH?
-
Seeker1982GAR is way more strict than just NoRH; your supposed to follow the yellow line, no shortcuts, all stunts properly executed, no SpeedUps etc
-
OverdrijfBut you've tested it and concluded there's no possible way to do GAR on that section, after which you asked for a rules change on that specific section. Hence my suggestion for a rules change on that section.
-
Seeker1982sry misunderstood you; I've read you as you would have said that GAR is just NoRH; I think agreed to your proposed exception - actually i already tried GARing in a very similar way by driving on the banked road and return to the normal road just before the corkscrew
-
OverdrijfThat is probably the most fun line for GARring, especially because that way you can just use the on ramp normally, it has a nice road-like flow.
May 7
-
Seeker1982my attempt at a GAR-lap
-
CasOops! Sorry, guys. I forgot it wouldn't be GARable. Otherwise, I would've added a split road for GAR. May I do that still?
-
dreadnaut@Stan: your two replays incur in a penalty time, because you cut too much of the track. The penalty time is visible in Stunts, during the lap and in the scoreboard screen. The penalty amount should be entered in the "Penalty time" field, when you upload you replay. I will now delete your results, feel free to upload a new replay entering the correct penalty time.
-
Stan 286XTIn stunt IS POSSIBLE found SHORT WAY!!! I am not in a competition were I can't go offroad tere are penalitis times BOOOH!!!!
-
OverdrijfIn that case I'm going to drive only the first two and last two tiles of every race from now on. Winner!
-
OverdrijfUnder 17 seconds. The crux of the matter is that we need some sort of cutoff for when a lap is legal. The ingame penalty time rules are good rules for that. You can skip any two road elements in a row at any time as often as you want, allowing for all sorts of clever jumpcuts and such, and in split road sections you can go completely crazy, as long as you start out using two elements of one path and end using two elements of another path. And since these rules are build into the game, we don't need to look at replays and such with a rulebook in hand to decide which shortcuts are okay and which are not. In this case the computer-referee thinks neither your shortcut nor mine are legal, and if we want to use them anyway we get a penalty of 15 seconds for the 3rd element skipped plus 3 extra second for every element after that. It's pretty steep, and you could argue that lowering the penalty will open new strategic shortcuts. But personally I'm opposed to removing the penalty time restrictions completely, otherwise the winning time for every race would be around 12 seconds or so, and the races would be boring.
-
afulloIf a penalty time of 4:00 corresponds to cutting all except for the very first and last tiles, then 3:45 means that only five more tiles are correctly ran across. I have not counted the number of tiles of the winning path, though.
-
OverdrijfI was going to say I might be mistaken about the exact penalties, but then I watched the replay and 5 elements driven "correctly" sounds about right. Unfortunately crossroads and split roads are not quite the same thing.
-
Overdrijf(Stan's replay gives 3:36.00 penalty time, so that would be 8 more tiles then my "lap".)
-
Seeker1982Stan's current replay from 7th of May still is invalid in terms of not filing in penalty for cutting - if one loads and continues the replay from just before the finish you'll end up with 1:01min of raw time with 3:36 added penalty -> 4:37min real time..
-
OverdrijfSo Stan did add the penalty time, but it got interpreted as 3.36 seconds rather than 3:36?
-
Overdrijf(O no, Seeker just missed a 2 or something. Ignore that last post of mine please.)
-
Seeker1982not sure; note that Stan driven time says 1:21min not 1:04min as it would be if stunts.hu have interpreted his penalty input as 3.36sec; since the driven time says 1:21min and the raw time is 1:01min stunts.hu must have interpreted his input as ~20sec penalty time
-
dreadnautI tested different numbers in the penalty conversion using the RPLInfo page, and it seems to work correctly.
-
Seeker1982if that is the case I can't help suspecting Stan typed in a false penalty time on purpose.. (basically to cheat)
-
OverdrijfStan has had some more weird issues, running on old hardware and different versions of Stunts. So it might be something weird about his replay. Doesn't make the lap valid of course, but it might be interesting if he looks at his times in future uploads to see if the scoreboard says something different than what he saw in game, to maybe see if there's a pattern. (Of course, if he is entering false penalty times to cheat, I'd advice him to bluff a bit more realistically. We only buy the huge time gaps on dual way switching tracks or with powergear cars )
May 8
-
afulloMaybe we have to ask him to use BB 1.1, even if it seems not to be the only issue...
-
GTAManRCRStan, do you really play on a real hardware? Then it'll be hard to play with Broderbund v1.1, except if you have two floppy disks, and you can connect them to the MS-DOS PC, you can play from them
-
CasHere's my first replay! I can see some of you tried the Acura. I have the feeling that, somehow, the #1 place at the end of this race will be on that car, but I admit I personally just can't handle the Acura very well. I'm happy with the Audi DTM
-
GTAManRCRAudi is a good car
-
afulloOk, nonetheless versions different from BB 1.1 were scrapped from usability in the rules back in 2015.
-
Seeker1982updated GAR-lap with necessary exception
May 9
-
Seeker1982Acura NSX isn't exactly my favorite car
-
CasHere's an improvement I made with the P962. Let's see if the resulting time is better or not. Still, I think in the end I'll stick to the Audi. Yes, it's good
-
OverdrijfThanks guys. Audi vs p962 is becoming quite an interesting test case, especially with this month having the same bonuses for them as the February race. I would have expected the DTM cars to be somewhat slower overall than the IMSA machines, but they seem to be able to make up for lost time in the corners.

KaoSThis Track is to difficult for me. Im a Automatic driver but i cant go over that big jump where you can reach the next trackpart.... i losing my motivation about it.
-
afulloThat part is difficult for everyone, don't give up!
-
OverdrijfThe big jump is literally impossible to pull off just following the road. You have to find (or copy) a freestyle solution. This is even allowed for the GAR race this month, because there is no other way to do that part.
-
Seeker1982btw: when is Stan's time from the 7th May finally pulled of the charts? I think it's clear that it's either bugged (incorrect penalty time compution) or plain cheated by not typing in the correct penalty time for the line he took - either way its invalid
-
afulloMaybe dreadnaut kept it in case he would have posted other laps of the same kind, in order to erase them all at once. While it is becoming likely that he will not post other replays this month, his lap will be probably removed soon.
May 14
-
dreadnautAlmost: I was planning to correct the penalty time, but first I want to split time and penalty in the database. Been busy though :-(
-
GutixHello my friends! I am very happy to be here again and see active the community. Good work with the website!
-
OverdrijfThat's one seriously impressive replay you got there.
-
GTAManRCRHello Gutix, do you have 4D Sports Driving 1.1 Feb 25 1991 release?
-
GutixI use version 1.1 Feb 12 1991. Why?
-
GTAManRCRBecause that's the last PC release, which is unavailable
-
GTAManRCRBut the version's actually released. You're lucky if you have it Here, stop on 7:41
-
OverdrijfThis is fun.
-
dreadnautI approve
May 15
-
OverdrijfAt some point it kind of stops being funny Stan...
-
afulloStan, non puoi continuare ad inserire giri in cui hai preso un sacco di penalità senza riportarla correttamente... (sorry for the Italian, maybe now it is more clear for him)
-
Stan 286XTHello from Pordenone!! IN STUNTS 4DS IS THE SAME 1.1 i CAN FAUND DIFFERENT WAY i HAVE FOUND SHORT WAY TO GOAL! Böff dampening: < 1dB
-
dreadnautUpdated Stan's result to match the evaluation screen in Stunts:
-
GTAManRCRHey Stan, do you have Feb-25-1991 4D Sports Driving?
-
OverdrijfThe track ends at the same point as where it begins Stan. It's not very hard to find a short way to the finish. The rules we use are meant to result in a challenge, in letting routes that are hard to drive and spectacular to watch win. While the rules are not perfect, they're better than just "drive out of the start square and back in in such a way that the game will accept it". That would result in very boring races, as I explained when I posted the picture proving I could do it within 1 seconds (and 4 minutes of penalty time). We count penalty time around here, please count it in your replays too.
-
Overdrijf*16 seconds, not 1
-
Overdrijf(If it turns out that 4D Sports Driving 1.1 does not indicate penalty time and that's where the confusion comes from, I vote to keep Stunts 1.1 as the standard version for the sake of the rules.)
-
CasGutix!!! Long time no see! Pleasure to have you racing on my track. Hey, I am running an OWOOT tournament too (Race For Kicks) at http://dimioca.com/r4k
-
afulloMindscape *does* indicate penalty time, I used that version in the 90s. It was 1.0, but it is very unlikely that 1.1 does not indicate penalty time while 1.0 does.
May 16
-
Stan 286XTwhy on Race For Kicks is not possible use Lancia?
-
afulloAt the moment Race for Kicks is a fixed car competition. Some degree of freedom can be allowed, like when any car from the DTM pack was suitable, but this is not the case for the majority of races.
May 17
-
FinRokStan! I like your name as im big fan of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy! They funniest persons ever lived! Great comedy gold! Here's one the vehicle gets scuffed lol -
-
CasYes, Race For Kicks is typically one fixed car per race, although there has been one race with more options. When there is more than one option, there's no handicap, so faster cars are always more convenient than slow ones. When only one car is allowed, it's usually a fast car. Lots can be changed, though. R4K is a young tournament.
-
MarcoCiao Stan, guarda che stai caricando replay che hanno penalità quindi n9n sono validi. Devi completare il circuito in modo corretto, se tagli troppo becchi penalità che poi devi caricare manualmente
-
MarcoHi Gutix, big honour to meet tou, 2004 ans 2010 world champion. Wow
-
GTAManRCRMarco, still you have original 4D Sports Driving v1.1 Feb 25 1991 floppy disks?
-
GTAManRCRNot I'm the only one who wants that version Does anyone have 4D Sports Driving 1.1 (25 Feb. 1991)
-
OverdrijfI was recently reminded of a thing that exists, and now so are you: http://create2048.com/game.php/?game=stunts
May 18
-
Seeker1982Stan's current replay is the same story all over again: driven 1:00,35 with 3:33min of penalty if one loads and continues it right before the finish.. Not quite sure why it says 1:19 driven time Btw regarding penalties: I have a competitive time in the Porsche Indy but i get a bit of penalty (~30sec) and I'm not sure how to avoid it..
-
OverdrijfSwerve around more... Never miss the tiles of more than two element in a row. (4 square elements count as one, you can for instance skip the tiles of two large corners in a row, but not a large corner and a banked corner, because the bank-up between them is a separate element.) (If you knew all this but were just venting frustration: good luck!)
-
Stan 286XTThe high jump is impossible
-
dreadnaut@Stan Yes, the high jump is not meant to be completed. Under "All results" you can download other people's laps and see how they deal with that.
-
OverdrijfIt is, literally. You can either try to jump to the right and slide back on to the road there (you skip the two bridge elements so you need to drive across the square with the offramp to avoid penalty time) or you can jump straight, drive on to the banked corner and come back in over the chicane tiles (you pass under both bridge elements so you can skip the off ramp and a single straightaway tile and still avoid penalty time). Another option is to miss the ramp and jump the hill to land on the elevated corner, but that's a tricky line...
-
dreadnaut@Stan Note that your best time at the moment is the one where you don't cut the track, and you have no penalty time. When you pile up 3 minutes of penalty, it's difficult to get a good position on the scoreboard!
-
Stan 286XTI am not on gar competition
-
dreadnautBut you are still entering the incorrect penalty:
-
GTAManRCRWhy aren't those images gray, as they look like in the game?
-
GTAManRCRAnd for you, Stan, don't try to cheat on the race by cutting too much parts of the track. You'll get penalty times anyway, if you do that. Instead, play fairly
May 19

CasLet's see how I do with the Porsche March Indy

CasHappy Birthday, FinkRok! And Happy Birthday Mark L. Rivers!
May 22
-
CasWow, with the Corvette! I can't see the replay right now, but I'll definitely want to look at it once the race is over
May 23
-
OverdrijfHey, I can't make it too easy for you guys. What I can do is for the less experienced racers write out the information the pros are getting from just seeing that time: 1 The Corvette has the same power gear speed as the Indy. The amount of driven time it loses compared to the Indy is too big to be explained purely by the Corvette being slower in the first section. So either the Corvette gets to powergear where the Indy does but drops somewhere before the end, or the Corvette gets to powergear in the same loop but it requires some time-wasting trickery, like going around the loop several times, or the Corvette doesn't get to powergear at the loop but instead at a later point. (Or Overdrijf is an evil time hider, that's always an option). So those are the three options you could explore trying to get to a similar result. There are no guarantees on what to do ones in powergear, but it can't hurt to have seen one or two public Indy replays, even if the Corvette is a little harder to control. 2 Car wise the Corvette has the highest bonus right now, and given how much of the lap can be done in powergear (based on the time of this lap), it's unlikely that any other car can straight up beat it. The Ferrari GTO could be an interesting option for people who don't manage to get the Corvette to powergear, since it has slightly faster stats. It is however notorious for its handling, so no guarantees. The Acura should be able to do the entire track in roughly the Indy line at 4/5th of the speed, giving it a driven time just slightly slower than the Corvette's (assuming my current lap is roughly as optimized as the faster Indy laps), and at a lower bonus. Hope that levels the playing field a bit without screwing myself too hard. We do want to have a fun race after all.
-
MarcoOverdrijf has inserted the turbo ...
-
Marcoi was going to have a very bad result with the Audi but i recovered with the indy ... Corvette is a hard result to achieve.
-
GTAManRCRHey Marco, why don't you upload 4D Sports Driving v1.1 Feb 25 1991? You should know, it's unavailable on the internet, but this version is claimed as that exists. Just upload it please. I hope you see this message and you'll upload it
May 24
-
CasI'm not a very skilled racer, especially when it regards slow cars and their tricks. I usually lose my place at the scoreboard because of other players good skills with slow cars to compete with the fast cars I choose, ha, ha. I think I should practice more with these cars to get to know them better
May 27
-
Marco@GTAMAN15 I can give it to Dreadnaut maybe , otherwise contact me on my FB page Marco plays Dos Games that I give you it by message

GTAManRCRThank you so much, Marco. If you really mean this
