  • Duplode
Yeah, this one is shaping up to be a classic! (Also, look at the fight for all of the top 6 positions!)
  • Erik Barros
Welcome back @Chulk!! Nice to see you on scoreboard

  • dreadnaut
Hello @Chulk, and welcome back! πŸ‘‹
  • Duplode
It's cool how in this race @AlanRotoi and I have gotten yellow and purple leading time bars Cheesy

  • dreadnaut
Mathcing the colour of the your cars? Pleasant coincidence!

Nov 3

  • dreadnaut
I quite like this track, thank you @Zapper!
  • Duplode
Five drivers within one second in positions 3-7! Who will be the next one to break out and go under two minutes?
  • Ryoma
@Duplode and @Alan, do you use another shortcut or it's only driving ?
  • Duplode
@Ryoma I haven't watched everyone's laps to be sure, but I think the basic lines are broadly similar. In a long and relatively slow track like this one, subtle differences and small improvements -- things like starting a grass shortcut with a little extra speed -- add up quickly. (I myself was pretty surprised at having improved more than six seconds in my mid-week redrive!)
  • dreadnaut
@Duplode I was working on the sub-2-minutes replay, but I got distracted implementing a "heat display" for the scoreboard! Hard-refresh your browser to see it live!
  • Zapper
Thank you @dreadnaut. This track was made to have a 2 minutes run. But it seems that it was pretty underevaluated. I think that there is plenty room for improvement till the "finish line" πŸ˜‰
  • Argammon
First blind try. Good enough for bronze. This reminds me of ZCT257. Smiley @Duplode: And here is the promised lap below 2 minutes!
    Lambo 1:24.64
  • Duplode
@dreadnaut Oh nice, the heat display works on past scoreboards too! Always good to have new visualisations to play with Smiley

Thanks @Zapper! I'm going back home from the 4th birthday celebration in a row. First and second were mine, third was from my sister in law and now the forth is from my nephew. πŸ˜„ I can't eat any more chips, sandwiches and cakes at least for a while πŸ˜„

And time is up! On the chat, soon to reveal the quiet replays!
  • dreadnaut
Quiet replays are out, unveiling a suprise Indy lap by @Argammon at the top of the scoreboard! πŸ’₯
  • Mortimer McMire
Congratulations to @Argammon (what a lap!), @Duplode and @AlanRotoi for making it to the podium! Also congratulations to @Ryoma and @ShoegazingLeo for completing the Amateur League podium! And a special shout out to @Spoonboy, I know how much time and effort he put into his lap and it's impressive how much time he gained on the rest of the field behind him!
  • Ryoma
Congratulations @Mortimer... How you become fast now...
  • Argammon
Congratulations @Duplode for winning the 2024 championship. I lost track of how many titles you have. Congrats to everybody else for a fierce Countach race, especially @Alanrotoi, @Spoonboy, and @Mortimer.
  • Duplode
Thank you @Argammon! Smiley Congratulations to you, too; that was a fantastic solution to bring the Indy to the top step. Also, congratulations to @Ryoma for securing the Am League title!! πŸŽ‰ And a special thanks to everyone at Cork's Crew for the ideas, support and encouragement — it's great racing with you Wink
  • Ryoma
@Duplode thank you but I think the title is not secure. If Mortimer wins one or two ltb points, he will be the champion. By an another hand, the rules are not clear that the ltb point count or not in the AM League and personnaly, I think it would be abnormal that an amateur can win these points ...
  • Mortimer McMire
@Ryoma, I'm also not sure about the ltb points counting for the amateur league. But even if they would, it would still be a HIGHLY unlikely scenario that I could keep on top of the leader board for at least 240, let alone 480 hours in the next race Grin ! So in the case they would count, de jure (on paper) you're correct but de facto (in reality) we can say you're the champion. So let met congratulate you with your Amateur League title!
  • Mortimer McMire
And I know realize, right after I posted my reply, that you (Ryoma) might also mean me being on top of the Amateur League scoreboard for 240 or 480 hours. As far as I can see there's nothing mentioned about this in the rules. That and also the fact that there's no Amateur league Leader Time counter on the Scoreboard leads me to believe that this scenario is also not the case. So although it could be handy if someone could clarify this for us I'm still thinking that there's no such thing and you are the AmL champion. And just to be sure, I agree with @Ryoma that no matter which scenario he means ltb points shouldn't count for the AmL.
  • Ryoma
@Mortimer thanks for your congratulations and fair play.
  • dreadnaut
    Scoreboard confirmed! Congratulations to @Argammon, @Duplode and @AlanRotoi πŸŽ‰

Congratulations @Argammon on a stunning ZCT280 victory! It's been a while since we saw a crazy PG lap, so it's almost a pleasure to lose to one! Wink And to my Cork teammates, @Duplode congrats on the season win - a close battle with @AlanRotoi that has been fascinating to watch. @MortimerMcMire your meteoric rise in skill and speed is great to see. You are learning far quicker than I did! And lastly thanks to @Zapper for a great track. Fun to drive, and the attention to detail required to succeed brought out the best in us. We continue to learn. Let's keep pushing!

Nov 21

  • Ryoma
My last move on this replay is allowed ?
    Jaguar 1:46.38
  • Duplode
@Ryoma It is allowed. This track is not affected by the instant finish bug, so there's no risk of doing an invalid finish in that way -- if you cut too much, you'll get penalty as usual.
  • Ryoma
@Duplode Thanks... It's the first time I found a trick by myself..even if you all used it lol
  • Mark Nailwood
Thanks for the hint @Ryoma, this trick at the end improved my LM002 replay significantly Smiley. But I think, I'll continue with the Jaguar on this track.
    LM002 1:52.41 A
  • Mark Nailwood
And here is my first test drive with the Jaguar.
    Jaguar 1:38.60 A
  • Ryoma
@MarkNailwood How stupid I was to share this trick Cheesy
  • Mortimer McMire
Thanks @Ryoma. I was working on a new faster lap, but with your help I managed to gain 9 seconds on my old lap trying your shortcut Wink !
    Jaguar 1:41.39
  • Ryoma
    @Mortimer Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
  • Duplode
This is a classic Akoss track, which is always a good thing in my book! Cheesy
    Lambo 1:35.21
  • Argammon
If I load @Ryoma's replay, the game shows that he got 9 seconds of penalty time. I did not check the other replays who copied the trick. So be careful when taking shortcuts. Smiley
  • Alan Rotoi
@Duplode why this time the instant finish bug is allowed? And, when is it allowed or not? πŸ€” (Another detail to add in the rules?)
  • Duplode
@AlanRotoi There is no instant finish bug in this track. In Ryoma's Jaguar lap from earlier today (2:03.70 driven), the car flies over the slalom tile before crossing the line, so only two elements are skipped and, as expected, there is no penalty. In his latest lap, though, the cut goes directly to the finish tile, so there are nine seconds of penalty, which the game does apply (thanks @Argammon for pointing it out).
  • Duplode
@Ryoma I've corrected the entry for your latest replay to add the missing nine seconds of penalty. The Jaguar lap from earlier today remains as is because, as mentioned, that one doesn't have penalty.
  • Mortimer McMire
Yeah, the penalty factor on this shortcut is a bit tricky to avoid. I forgot to check on my first try too so I'm not entirely sure that that one counts. But if I'm correct this one is completely valid?
    Jaguar 1:33.57
  • Duplode
@MortimerMcMire Indeed, this lap doesn't have penalty (and neither does the previous one with 1:53.55 driven). The penalty time warning disappears very quickly in this kind of line, so it's safer to use the evaluation screen to check for penalty.
  • Alan Rotoi
Thanks @Dups. Better this allowed/not allowed rule than some allowed and some not. πŸ˜€
  • Ryoma
    OK I didn't pay attention...sorry

Nov 22

  • Ryoma
I was trapped by my trick Smiley
  • Ryoma
Can someone explain me how to pass the corkscrew without one hundred fails ?
    Jaguar 1:39.07
  • Duplode
@Ryoma What usually works for me (not necessarily on the first try, but without too many attempts): approach the wall on the right lane, slowing down to 50-60 mph at the contact point. Let the glitch happen, stay braking and keep the steering centered until you've made it to the other side of the wall (once you're free from it, you can accelerate and adjust the steering to prepare the landing).
  • Ryoma
    thanks @Duplode I will try
  • Erik Barros
@Ryoma It took me a while to get this trick right, accelerating a little as soon as the car's nose passes the wall helps.
  • Mortimer McMire
This is my first race driving this kind of track. But I have to say, until now I'm really enjoying it. Some parts are still a bit too technical for me but there's some much to learn along the way!
    Jaguar 1:31.98
  • Ryoma
    You are too modest Mortimer.
