Stein ViterboWorked harder on figuring out the cuts. Got a little better time.1:26.82
-
Mortimer McMire@steinViterbo , figuring out the shortcuts and how to execute them is one of the charms of ZakStunts if you ask me! A thing that is really helping me improve is asking people in the community te explain how some of the stunts work. There's always someone willing to take the time to answer your questions!
-
Alan Rotoi@SteinViterbo @MortimerMcMire will you join us in the live race? We'll meet in the chatroom in 40 minutes.
-
Mortimer McMire@AlanRotoi , Unfortunately I couldn’t make it. But I’m watching it live on YouTube as we speak. It looks really cool. Next time, if I have the time, I’ll try and participate!

ArgammonI'm just wondering: Why does @Alanrotoi only get 2 leading-time points? Shouldn't 748 hours be good enough for 3?

Mark NailwoodI have problems sending my final replay. After selecting, it says "The replay does not look complete, did you cut the end short?". When pressing "Submit replay", it says "Sorry, your lap ends with a crash. Did you submit the wrong replay?", and it just shows my driving time without calculation of the normalized scoreboard time, and it says "Note: the lap is not complete!". Even after re-starting Stunts and DOSBox, the replay shows a valid end frame after loading, runs through the lap until the end in standard and high speed, and shows a valid time in the highscore table without penalty when continued before the finish line. I think this has also happened before for others, so is there a workaround for the problem, or can I send the replay via mail? Should I send the replay to the forum before the race ends?
-
Mark NailwoodAh, just after posting the message, I found the solution: The replay needs to be saved with driving just before the finish line, then re-loaded, so that when continuing the warning "... if you don't continue from the end ..." does not appear. When saving this new replay after having finished, it can be uploaded. Don't know if this is the official workaround or if it just worked for me by chance, but if anyone else faces the issue, it might help.
-
Duplode@MarkNailwood The issue probably has to do with the 20 zero bytes at the end of the replay (the final second after crossing the finish line), which the site checks for validation. Due to a bug, in very rare circumstances the game adds 19 rather than 20 zero bytes even if you don't cut off the replay. The usual workaround is redriving the final seconds of the lap in a slightly different way, as a tiny change in the replay should be enough to avoid the bug. Loading a replay saved before the line to avoid the "continuing" dialog isn't necessary for that (doing RH as usual would have sufficed); in any case, the redriving you ended up doing had the desired effect.
-
Duplode@Argammon The literal text of the rules does not rule out LTB +3, though the one time that happened previously (in ZCT237) the third point wasn't granted. I won't object to whatever dreadnaut decides about this.1:19.14
-
Mark NailwoodThanks @Duplode for the explanation. In my case, I didn't succeed with just rewinding and doing some extra left/right steering, and then I tried it with save, reload and continue. Well, maybe it was just a coincidence, or something additional was messed up in the memory. It also happened sometimes that the replay added 1.05 seconds after the indicated time on thr scoreboard, and when uploading, the web page calculated my time with extra 0.05 seconds. Well, with my current replay, everything is ok. Let's see where I will end up this time.
-
dreadnautTravelling today, I won't be around for the replay reveal. Will update with the new track tomorrow evening when I'm back!
-
DuplodeAs a teaser, let's reveal the quiet replays -- in the chatroom, ten minutes from now

DuplodeQuiet replays revealed!
-
Frieshansen@Duplode I was very happy about this replay on my track!!
-
SpoonboyCongratulations to @Duplode @AlanRotoi and @Frieshansen! Some epic tricks on show. And special congratulations to @MortimerMcMire on his Amateur League victory!
-
Duplode@Frieshansen Third time's the charm for the Lancia I enjoyed your track a lot, great work! Also, some fine T-Bird driving from you, and @AlanRotoi as well. Congratulations, too, to the Am League podium: @MortimerMcMire (first Am victory!), @Ryoma (excellent overall 7th place!) and @ShoegazingLeo (first Am podium this year!).
-
Erik BarrosCongratulations @Duplode, @AlanRotoi and @Frieshansen!!! Also to @MortimerMcMire, @Ryoma and @ShoegazingLeo!!
-
ArgammonCongratulations @Duplode, @Alanrotoi, and @Frieshansen. Well done! I am also impressed with how fast @MortimerMcMire is improving. PS: @Duplode drove 1.43.15 with the Acura on the 23rd of September. You guys should have seen the car switch coming.
-
dreadnautScoreboard confirmed! Well done everyone, impressive replays ⭐
-
dreadnautAnd the new track is up, thanks go to @Zapper for ZCT280!
-
OverdrijfOoh, interesting... The car bonuses too.
-
ZapperI'm glad to make my first participation as a guest track designer! Hope that you all enjoy racing on it.
Oct 21
-
DuplodeThough it would be good to hear @Zapper's view about it, I feel that forbidding dual-way switching on this track might make sense. Here is a lap demonstrating why. (I'll be happy to have it deleted if we end up forbidding it!)
-
Alan RotoiI agree. I wrote to @dreadnaut today but still no response. This is why I opened the thread about track designing for ZakStunts in the forum. Every month is a risk. Dual-way tracks are another chapter, but also if the track is too long or too easy or too restrictive. There should be a "manual" because as any racing competition the tracks design depends on the needs of the competition. That's the step from amateur to professional tracks.
-
RyomaI can't see the replay. @Duplode drive to the left after the first jump ?
-
dreadnautI completely missed the dual switch when I reviewed the track, I thought the second path was only decorative 🤦 Let's see if @Zapper has a preference, but maybe the fix here is a custom rule "No dual-way switch allowed on this track"
-
Duplode@Ryoma It's a little later than that: turn left at the split, onto the dirt road, then cut across the middle hill, towards the "square" with the tunnels and the path rejoin.
-
ZapperHello you all. The track was intended to have dual ways. I designed it in order to be raced around 2 minutes, using one or other way depending the kind of car chosen. But I didn't see that coming as @Duplode demonstrates. Forbidding that crossing path , or blocking with elevated road blocks on the hill (this involves track update) is a solution I would approve to be as restriction for this race.
-
AlecuMy lap with Porsche 962 IMSA!2:14.00 A
-
dreadnautRule change then: dual-way switching is not allowed for this track! I'll add a note after work, and remove @Duplode's eye-opening replay. Apologies for missing this during the review!
-
ZapperThank you @dreadnaut. For me it's a good decision.

SpoonboyJust posting this as I'm enjoying the wall-hack out of the u/d cork - not done this since ZCT266 Crazy Valley! And Happy Birthday to fellow DOS Game Club member @DJ_HiP!1:36.10
-
Alan Rotoi@Spoonboy why do you think there are so few racers from UK?
-
Alan RotoiAlso, we observed many years ago that is funny most racers are from Europe and South America... just like football! 😄 The strongest racers are from Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Argentina... just like football!
-
Alecu2nd attempt, but with Porsche March Indy.2:22.26 A
-
Alecu3rd attempt2:17.74 A
-
Spoonboy@AlanRotoi that's an interesting question. I know there are a good number of DOS fans here. But maybe we weren't as aware of Stunts in the old days, to remember it now? The EU/Americas sporting mentality is another interesting point. We have sporting pedigree, especially for team games. but maybe in PC gaming we're lazier? ;P1:30.81
-
Mark Nailwood@AlanRotoi Representing Austria, I can say that the Austrian national football team really improved since 2023 and achieved some good results, also matching with my comeback to the Stunts scene . And yes, I know that they will probably never win the world championship, and this is also matching with my long-time expectations in this contest .
-
Alan RotoiGreat @MarkNailwood, another step in the football-stunts theory 😀. You already won a couple of world championships when Luke's and Kalpen's were the most important competitions! It's like Intercontinental cup and its heir the Clubs World Cup 😄
-
Shoegazing LeoThe greatest austrian team was in the 30s, the Wünderteam, led by the legend Mathias Sindelaar.
Oct 26
-
RyomaMy orange arrows is not allowed? Right ?
-
Duplode@Ryoma Yup, if you do that and continue onto the pipe and the southeastern path, that's dual-way switching, which is not allowed in this race. (Though if you somehow manage turn back to the western path and the second u/d cork without skipping more than two elements of that path, it would be allowed, as Argammon points out in the Forum: ZCT280 - Marginal )

ChulkHello hello! So I decided to come back. First feeling about it? Oh, how I hate the freaking Countach!
-
DuplodeExcellent news! Welcome back to the scoreboard, @Chulk!
-
Alan RotoiOoh what a "almost birthday" surprise @Chulk hehe. Glad to see you in the scoreboard!
-
Mortimer McMireI'm to new to Zakstunts to know you. But after a quick view at your profile (and Alan's and Duplode's reactions) I see that you are one of the veterans in the game. But nonetheless welcome back @Chulk !
-
ArgammonThis @Duplode lap may be the championship decider. Or can @Alanrotoi strike back? This is exciting!
