speaking of the "devil" - I just uploaded a new zak-Stunts RH/Main-comp lap without using your public replays for inspiration Cheesy

  • Bonzai Joe
It's a good thing there aren't any birds in Stunts or those supershiny white cars would soon turn into poop canvases.

  • Stingray86
After the 200th try Marco, I did it!
    BMW DTM 1:12.22
  • Marco
    NICE DONE STING ...
  • Seeker1982
I just did a driven 1:15,95 GAR-lap in the BMW Wink However it wasn't entirely to rules - at literally the last corner i braked to late and was on the grass with all 4 wheels Sad - then i fixed the error with RH I did said time

Oct 16

  • Marco
Hi seeker ... 4 tires on the grass is not the rule, if ypu have a single pixel of the car that touch the track, that s valid. Did you have a pixel?
  • Seeker1982
I think my whole car was on the grass, but I don't have a replay of that lap anyways

    HEPPY BURTH DAY Wanted77 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Marco
LTB Hours counter stop at 600 ?
  • Overdrijf
I think you reached your seasonal leading hours limit. No more leading hours for you this year. Wink
  • Overdrijf
(Actually, 600 hours is exactly 25 days. I think it might have stopped when we hit the silent days, you don't get those final 48 hours until the times are revealed.)
  • afullo
LTB hours are not computed during quiet days. Only a placeholder of 1 hour (and I don't even know if for purpose or simply due to a bug in the computation), usually irrelevant, is given to the final leader.

Oct 19

  • Seeker1982
new faster GAR-lap which is 100% clean/legit Cheesy I'm sure a legit a driven 1:15 is possible in the BMW, but only if the car wouldn't often slow down after jumps - an unheard number of runs were wasted due to this chararcteristic Shocked
    BMW DTM 1:10.24
  • Overdrijf
I saw a bit of that during testing, though I figured I had it mostly removed. I also figure it has to with a steep end of the power curve, which lets the car skip straight from an RPM value with plenty of torque (making a large skip possible) to one with a serious lack of power. The reason this car has a steep end of the power curve is to limit the difference between flat track and real top speed. So that's one more thing to mind when doing a car project.

Question... why does the submitted-replays graphic (which looks really cool) for Castelar have the public days starting later than the first replays, while previous tracks show it starting at the beginning of the race? I'm probably just misunderstanding it
  • dreadnaut
Quiet replays published, and surprise! Alan did it! :-o
  • Overdrijf
What an upset! Surprise Indy! Congratulations Alan!
  • Marco
I was looking for the ltb world record but ... you are so aggressive Smiley).congratulation to all
  • Seeker1982
Wow, congrats to Alan - quite a suprising finish. To be honest I was hoping for a win and thought my opponent was just Marco Cheesy
  • Stingray86
All Hail the Indy in Power Gear!
  • Alan Rotoi
Thanks guys! A lot of time passed without a 1st place. I just can't remember Cheesy
  • Marco
When i met this site, mu first objective was to reach Alan in the medal table. Very happy that you have won

Oct 21

  • Duplode
While I didn't really expect to win with my quiet replay, I also didn't expect that to happen like that Smiley Congratulations, Alan!
  • Marco
In Italy we use to say ... may the best win. I have won the season without be the best but because of several coincidences. I'm still not able to find the right car or the fastest path without watching the replays of the very best racers, I'm not able without copying. This is the perfect example, I was looking for a ltb hour record and so I placed something like my best lap very soon. So you have not placed your replays till the end. Without watching your replays i have finished fifth Smiley))
  • Cas
Congratulations! I can't watch Alan's replay where I'm now, but as soon as I can, I will!
  • dreadnaut
Scoreboard confirmed! Congratulations to Alan, Duplode, and Seeker1982! And now, on to something completely different...
  • Seeker1982
atm I'm listening to an political-interview from Tilo Jung with Andreas Kemper ( ) during which I tried to improve my GAR-time. I just managed a new LEGIT/valid driven time of 1:15,90 in the BMW DTM, which is a new PB Cheesy Sadly time's up
  • dreadnaut
That was something different, indeed Cheesy But also, the new track by Oliver, @sd4000, is up! Could "Big City Life" be a postmodern metaphor about the loss of values and direction in the post-truth hyperconnected world, condensed into a Stunts track? Find your way out and you might understand! Smiley
  • Overdrijf
Because you're not properly racing until you have to check a map.
  • afullo
Nice map! If I have time, my next map will be the spiral of Lignano Pineta, check on OpenStreetMap if you do not know Smiley
  • dreadnaut
    I did not know!
  • dreadnaut
@Cas: the shaded area at the beginning of the chart is the time between the track being online and the race starting. It doesn't always happen, but sometimes it's there so that every timezone has time to look at the track before LTB hours start counting.
  • afullo
Until 2014, when races lasted usually for a calendar month, LTB started to be computed on the 4th day of the month, regardless of track availability.

Oct 23

  • Stingray86
Practice makes perfect! The Kart is much better than the Vette for this track. Cant believe a 29 year old DOS game can be this exciting! Check out that GAR Marco! Ready for you to destroy that time Seeker Tongue
  • afullo
I had difficulties posting my replay: the showdown after submitting the lap continued to signal me an ending with a crash, which was not the case. I retried racing from several seconds before the end, without of course interrupting the second after crossing the finish line, but again a crash was detected. So I tried to make a sharp turn toward the yellow line near the very end, it worked but I lose 0.10 seconds (from 2:16.40); now I have tried to post another lap without making that turn (with the same time of 2:16.40), but again it did not work... Sad
  • afullo
Ok, this time no problem Smiley
    Kart 1:51.21 A
  • Overdrijf
The nice thing about such a GAR-ish track is that you can do your early racing without checking replays. Good times up already!

quetion about hardwere reqiurment stunt 1.0 need a pc 80286 8Mhz 4ds sport an 8086 8Mhz if the game is the same how can run in a necv30?

Oct 30

  • Stingray86
I would only run 4ds / stunts on an 80486 or higher for it to be fully playable, smooth with graphics on full. I have a pentium 4 with windows XP retro gaming PC running dosbox connected to an old CRT monitor and keyboard for that authentic retro feel.
  • Stan 286XT
Certenly!!! 4ds is a little more fast stunt becouse start fom request necV30 8Mhz Have sameone tray to play 4ds on pc necV30 8Mhz whit fpu 8087 For my turbo 286+fpu287 4DS run better!!!
  • afullo
It's odd that MS Stunts would run on a 8086 while BB Stunts would not, there seems not to be so much graphical difference to justify it.
  • Marco
Ohhh, so many happy birthday, thank you my friends. I'm in trouble, My Mom has broken her back, she cannot leave the bed , and I'm little in flu. Anyway we are still alive
  • afullo
Ouch, hope you ("you" and "she" - damn that English language, after ruling out "thou" in medieval times, lost the difference between singular and plural in the second person) will recover soon!
  • Stingray86
Thats terrible! Hope you both recover soon.
  • Stingray86
With the Australian 'Strine' version of English, we dont care how its written as long as the message gets across! Smiley
  • dreadnaut
@Afullo You can sometimes work around that with "you both" or "you all". @Marco get well, both of you!

I have installed stunt1.1 on a laptop superslim286 12Mhz no fpu 1MB ram EGA and in cga mode run fine! I thing 4DS1.0 in cga grafic monitor monocrome grey PC necV30 fpu8087 640kb ram can run good! whot do you think about? have pc like ths?tray tell me whot append!!!!
  • Cas
Stan... you really like old hardware! I first started programming (and using a PC at all) on an XT clone with a green Hercules monochrome monitor, my uncle's computer. By the time I had my own, it was a 386 with a colour VGA monitor, so it was a big jump. I have great interest in classic PCs and I have a number of old clones here, but the smallest is a 486. On the other hand, I'm on an electronic project with a friend of mine, building a hobby computer around a Z80 microprocessor, so you can tell I enjoy old hardware too!
  • afullo
To answer all: (i) no, I started with a 486DX in 1992, which furthermore I do not own anymore; (ii) I don't know whether Stunts uses floating-point arithmetic or not, so I'm not sure that having a FPU or not could make a difference; (iii) 8 MHz and 640k of RAM should be sufficient by basing upon the official requirements ( https://www.cs.mcgill.ca/~abatko/interests/stunts/ ), and on the other hand the NEC V30 is 8086 compatible, so I think it could run on it as well.
