    FELIZ CUMPLE, GUTIX...!!!!
  • Duplode
And happy birthday Gutix! (I miss seeing a full MeganiuM squad flying high...)
  • Duplode
The slow gap-jump is quite painful in GAR with Lotus and the other slow cars, while the track as a whole feels claustrophobic with Melange... so here is something pointless but comfortable to begin with.
  • Akoss Poo
    not good enough
  • Marco
Hi Dup. What do you think about the GAR race ? Is it necessary to decide a fixed CAR ?
  • Alan Rotoi
Oh what the hell! I won't wait 'til the "blind days"... It isn't a masterpiece to hide Cheesy
  • Cas
    ¡Feliz Cumpleaños, Gutix!
  • Shoegazing Leo
    Feliz aniversário, Gutix!

Sep 2

  • Duplode
Marco: Though I wouldn't mind it very much, I don't think it is necessary. The troublesome jump ultimately doesn't seem to be a matter of luck, but mainly one of attaining the perfect line in the sector before it. I feel anyone who manages to pull that off consistently deserves to win the race, even if they are the only one to drive the Lotus.
  • Marco
I completely agree with you ... so also to choose the right car is a skill matter.

Sep 3

  • Shoegazing Leo
Our community is becoming middle-aged. Ten years-ago, a track with the number 182 would be called Blink.
  • Dreadnaut
Having closed my evening playing some Green Day on the guitar, I feel your disappointment.
  • Alan Rotoi
Always an accurate commentary from Leo Cheesy Love it!

Sep 5

  • FinRok
I was sweating like a pig, on the run =D

Sep 6

  • Cas
Finally, posting on this track. Hey... very hard to make a valid GAR! That jump before the elevated curve almost never goes well on the first try. So for now, I'm just posting a regular RPL. Zak... you used Cas-Stunts editor for this track, cheers! Smiley Version 2.4 is already on Southern Cross site (thanks, Duplode). I'd appreciate if it were listed here too. I'm working to make keyboard editing more comfortable now... and a few more things.

Sep 7

  • Duplode
A nice battle for the lead Smiley
  • Marco
Rok ... Duplode and Renato are smiling waiting to place their 5 to 10 seconds faster than us laps!!! Anyway we are fighting for at least 1 ltb point.

Sep 8

  • Cas
There... finally a GAR RPL Smiley

Sep 9

  • Cas
¡Feliz Cumple, SergioBaro! Happy Birthday, SuperBrian!
  • AbuRaf70
MUY FELIZ CUMPLE, HIJO...!!!! y también para SuperBrian..!!!
  • Cas

  • Cas
Just published the latest version of my track editor. Error checking, built-in terrains... take a look: Bliss / Cas-Stunts track editor Smiley

Sep 15

  • AbuRaf70
    FELIZ CUMPLE, CAS...!!!!!
  • Marco
If my calculation are not wrong and if Finrok doesn t overtake again, i m going to have again 2 ltb points. Why Renato, Duplode or Akoos , have you not overtaken me for the ltb?
  • Akoss Poo
Your replay is too good at the moment. On the other hand, I'm in racing for fun mode, so don't expect me to race very hard. (And: I'm totally out of the title race, so I'm not interested in LTB anyway.)
  • Marco
I mentioned you as i could mention Alan Rotoi because i know that you are super fast.anyway I know that you are not racing to win. My message was for dup and renato. They are not scared by my ltb bonus because i m far from them but these points could be useful to them for their fight
  • Cas
    ¡Gracias, AbuRaf!

Sep 16

  • AbuRaf70
    Feliz Cumple, Friker...!!!!
  • Cas
Happy birthday, Friker, too! Cheesy Hey, and by the way, 13 September was programmer's day. Happy day to all programmers here!
  • Marco
    I reached my limit

Sep 17

  • FinRok
I broke the 1:54:00 "driven" time barrier! That's my final getting too hard to improve 1:54 felt almost impossible to brake got lucky.
  • FinRok
    i mean with Lotus Cheesy
  • Cas
    Happy birthday, Renato Biker!
  • Renato Biker
    ThanCas! Wink
  • Friker
Yeah, happy birthdays to you, guys, and thanks for congratulations from you. Yellow Fleas getting older. And hopefully more active. Wink
  • AbuRaf70
    Feliz Cumple, Renato...!!!!
  • FinRok
Happy birthday to all who have or had bday! Smiley

Sep 18

  • Cas
Can I post a track for the next race?

Sep 19

  • Marco
Hppy birthday to all ... Every day there's a birthday here. !!! My friends, is there someone that can explain me how to create new cars in Stunts ? I would like to make some old FIAT cars like the Fiat Uno Turbo or the 127 !!! Smiley))

Please, can someone make the FIAT UNO TURBO ? Smiley Alan Rotoi ?
  • Marco
YESSS !!! My friend Rok !!! After several trials ,I was giving up but, I found a very little incredible speed up that permitted me to overtake you again !!!
  • Duplode
This is the best race of the year already! Too bad I have missed most of it...
  • Duplode
Marco: my reply about car creation is a little long for comfortable reading in this format, so I sent it to you as a personal message at the Forum instead Smiley
  • Shoegazing Leo
Uno is a classic in Brazil too. There is a card game called Uno. These days, a seller showed me a card game with the same system. I asked if it wasn't Fiat Elba or Fiat Prêmio.
  • Zak McKracken
I just had a game of Solo (100% copy of Uno) with my sons Smiley They beat me! Smiley Sampi's first car was a black Uno. Not the turbo though of course, I think it was an 1.3, so not weak. I love the dashboard on the Turbo version!
  • Shoegazing Leo

  • Marco
Thanks Duplode, i checked your private email and downloaded all the programs but i have already understood that is not my job ... With my little son, family , new house, i have no time to learn and make a good UNO Turbo . Very sad because it could be great to make a lot of cars for stunts. When isaw your new cars for the first time it seemed to me incredible.
  • dreadnaut
Too late, too slow Smiley Fun track though, and finally Lotus!
  • Duplode
You are welcome, Marco. It does seem that at this day and age time and stamina for such things are hard to find for all of us (in my case they only come in unpredictable bursts). Collaboration is likely the way to go for future projects...

Sep 21

  • Duplode
This is my first competition lap driven with MT-32 sound Smiley

Sep 22

  • Marco
OH NOOO ... you did it again !!!
  • FinRok
YES! I got lucky again, i think i found top speed for last segment.
  • Zak McKracken
Rare event: two runs on one track Smiley

Sep 23

  • Marco
Rok ,I had a lucky speedup but you had the very super lucky speedup !!! I'm not able to reproduce again my 1.53.85... so it is impossible to find the 1.53.70 for me.
  • Marco
Sorry , i remained 2 gap before ... Smiley Anyway i confirm again ,I'm not able to reproduce my 1:53.75 ... and I cannot find the 1:53.60. You had the incredible super speedup
  • Cas
I've been spending more time working on the track editor than racing. I'll try to change that for next races Tongue

Sep 24

  • SergioBaro
Hola Cas!
  • Marco
Not so satisfied about my GAR race ... anyway still in first position.
  • Duplode
I don't expect at all to challenge you there, but I will try to find some time for at least completing a GAR lap with Lotus...
  • Duplode
There it is: not a great lap by any stretch of imagination, but at least it was driven with the right car Smiley
  • Duplode
If anyone else wants to try a last-minute GAR lap with Lotus, here is what worked for me at the difficult bridge corner + hill corner + hill drop + gap jump combo: third gear throughout the whole thing, braking to the lower end of the useful RPM range for the sharp corner. Turn early for the sharp corner, and perhaps counter-steer a bit just before the hill drop at the exit, so that you can land without sliding. Stay glued to the left edge of the track before the gap jump, and only switch to fourth gear after leaving the ground completely. You will still need a bit of luck to survive it...

Sep 25

  • It's a rare event that someone "new" wins a ZakStunts race. In this case this took three years and nine months. And it took Marco 21 consecutive races to get to the top. He won with clean jumps and clean lines - just as you would expect from Marco. Huge congratulations! Oh and he also secured the +2 LTB to make this a perfect month. Well done Marco!

Duplode and Renato were battling for the title the entire year - this month Duplode won (barely) - but the title seems to belong to Renato. There's still an open battle for the third place (though Friker seems to be absent lately) and a heavy fight for the 4-8 places - check out the seasonal scores!

We continue with two guest tracks before the season final - first by Cas, master of track designing tools, well let's see how good is he in track design :)

  • Duplode
    Impressive.
  • FinRok
Congrats! Marco great competition again!! I myself tried that shortcut through the grass but could not make the "super bump jump" from the banked road at 1.28!
  • Marco
Thanks my friend but,i m quite sure that our position destiny is to change with the quiet replays Smiley))
  • Renato Biker
Great Marco! I sent 1:53:40, but you destroyed my hope! Cheesy I am so happy about that, I always knew when I win easily is why you did not tryied so much, this month was the proof of that! Wink
  • Duplode
Well, my quiet lap is 1:53.30......
  • dreadnaut
Quiet replays published, wait for Zak to confirm the results!
  • Duplode
Congratulations Marco!! A classic victory in the best race of the season so far.
  • Duplode
(And an honourable mention to FinRok, who was inches away from the podium for the second time in a row!)
  • Akoss Poo
I am glad not to try harder. 5th place with 1:57 instead of the same with 1:54-1:55. 0.10 replay faster on my winchester but not even motivated to send it...
  • Marco
Thanks my friends. It's a very great honour to have won a main race against champions like you and to have finally given a Main (not GAR) victory to my slowdrive team... I was lucky. I'm a seminewbie , I have learnt a lot of things and I have still to learn from you but, unfortunately, I met this site a little bit too late. My eyes, fingers, etc, have 35 years of pc gaming my friends and I'm 41!!. So my career here is going to the end because the Main championship at the highest level requires too much effort but ... I'm becoming good only for exhibition Smiley)) I introduced the GAR for that but It's becoming to hard the GAR too. Anyway let me be proud to have entered the history of the ZAKSTUNTS as the first racer to have won both MAIN and GAR race Smiley)) Thank you
  • Zak McKracken
Congrats Marco! You are the 20th person who has ever won a ZakStunts race, and it is a rare event as we have elected the 19th almost 4 years ago. So you can be proud Smiley Now let's update Smiley
  • Zak McKracken
Duplode, can you please resubmit your final replay? I clicked the wrong button and accidentally deleted it Sad
  • Zak McKracken
nevermind, found it on the team forum Smiley
  • Cas
Congratulations, Marco! Cheesy Great race! Now that I can run Stunts in DOSBox at normal speed, I'll try to submit replays more often. Also, I have to learn a lot. As a racer, I've never been that good, ha, ha.
  • Cas
Ah! My track! Cheesy Well, last time, everybody liked my track 4AM. Let's see how you guys feel with Napalm. Also, 4am had been raced years before in Paleke's championship. Napalm has never been raced on a tournament so far Smiley
  • Duplode
Both Stunts Wiki: List_of_ZakStunts_race_winners (Zak got there before I did Smiley) and the medal table at Stunts Wiki: ZakStunts are now updated Wink
  • Marco
THAT'S GREAT ... I' M IN THE ALL OF FAME OF THE RACE WINNERS ... AND PROBABLY AT THE VERY LAST CHANCE Smiley)). Don't understand how Friker has overtaken me on the Season standings without racing... Last race I was third in championship and now, after a winning, fourth ? It's better to do not win !
  • Zak McKracken
Marco : seasonal standings are resorted per real scores = 4 worst results don't count. Until now it was sorted per accumulated points.
  • Duplode
Marco: REAL scores at the season standings sometimes do not make much sense until the final rounds, as the worst three results are discarded at any point of the season. In this case, Friker "gained" ten points by missing Z182 because now his zero-points Z182 is being discarded instead of one of his third places. So he didn't actually overtake you -- it's just that the REAL scores reflect the actual situation better, now that the races that will be discarded for Friker won't change anymore (as he has three zero-points races already).

Sep 26

  • Duplode
Here is a Z182 top 4 Cartography animation! As usual, watch in HD and fullscreen.
  • Marco
Nice animation !!! You have the experience to better understand what is the turns limit of each cars while I'm only a fast normal racer. Renato match the perfection on the normal turns losing the race on a single banked trick. So,we were lucky that he didn't find that banked trick because he had a big gap there. Renato what about GAR ? Why don't you race there ?
  • Marco
To play the main championship against racers like Renato, Duplode, etc., it's not enough to have good skills but it is very important to know the theory of the game and phisics of the cars. This make the difference between a very good turn or a perfect turn. Learn the perfection requires a lot of time that I have not. I know how to have good accelleration and good turns but I need several hours of trials to understand what is the perfection. I'm too old to study the perfection,so this is the reason why I didn't push on the main championship this year but I focused on the GAR where the perfection is not possible so you have only to be very fast. I know that I lose by Renato and Duplode if i keep fight on perfection, so when I find my third or fourth position in the main it's enough. To lose by 3 seconds or to lose by 0.00.50 is the same but the first gap requires me a half hour to play while the second several hours.
  • Renato Biker
Wow, very good animation! Well, I always dedicate myself to keep a good pace the entire lap, this has always been my strategy. Big tricks comes with more attempts, which I did not have time to do for the end of this race. I did the last stretch while my wife was already asleep, the keyboard sound was very bad in this situation Tongue, then I finished my attempts before being satisfied with my finishing. But I admit I was not seeing the best way, I was not much hope to find that. Smiley About GAR, Marco, I just don't like it so much. For me, free tricks and shortcuts with RH is the best way to compete on stunts. Wink
  • Cas
Here goes my first attempt on my own track Smiley
  • Zak McKracken
    quick try with lagging dosbox
  • Shoegazing Leo
CONGRATULATIONS TO MARCO!!!! First victory!!!! I couldn't improve in last time 'cause I wasn't at home.

Sep 27

  • Cas
Posting my first GAR replay for this track Smiley
  • Marco
Ok my friends, i want to thank you for the GAR chance ... I talked with my friend ROK . If all the other racers agree I would like to ask to close it with this last race. It had no success and it has no sense at this point.
  • Duplode
GAR, a failure? Really? I believe such things are relative. A typical ZakStunts round has 10-12 racers. Some of them don't like OWOOT, and some don't have time for preparing a second replay. That being so, barring a large influx of new racers 4-6 racers is a reasonable expectation for the GAR scoreboard. I think it would be the same with NoRH-with-shortcuts, or with any other alternative scoreboards.
  • Zak McKracken
Marco you need to be more patient/persistent. ZakStunts was several times down to less than 10 racers. Come up rather with a plan for a GAR championship in 2017 Smiley
  • dreadnaut
I think I'd be more likely to race on different GAR tracks, that to race twice in different ways on the same track. I had fun with USC and StuntsLoL as a side competition!
  • Cas
Dreadnaut has made a good point. I think it'd be even more interesting if GAR had its own track. Also, I'll be curious... most people here that don't do GAR, is it NoRH or OWOOT that you feel less comfortable with? Because maybe the fact that the two are requirements does make a difference too. The first tournament I ever participated in was Paleke's WSC. It was OWOOT, but RH was allowed and some "tricks" were allowed as long as you did all loops and corkscrews (e.g.: you could jump on the boulevard).
  • Cas
But I totally support GAR as it is now and I am willing to continue to race there. I had been really wanting an OWOOT tournament for quite some time Smiley
  • Marco
Well my friends ... I'm going to retire from championship after this race. I love you so I will try to remain in the community and maybe run some single race sometime. I'm a dos gamer and 35 years of pc gaming were not a very good sport to do since my childhood. I also work all day in front of a screen and I'm suffering eyes floaters since last years and other age gamer problems so that It's better for me to reduce gaming time. I asked for the GAR because it requires more driving skill than time and trick experience like your championship but it's becoming hard the GAR too for me. This year I participated to the main championship only because the GAR result was ported there and I could not accept to make a 10th place because of that Smiley. But I plaied only an half hour each main race to reach at least the 3rd or 4th position excluding the c182 where i pushed more and, infact, I decided to retire after that race Smiley). It's the age my friend, excluding the great Anelio Smiley, you will see that 41 is not 31 that it was not 21. Smiley)) You are great, Who is Mestre ? Renato ?
  • Marco
Renato, Duplode , do you really want to hide your replays and tricks as you did in the previous race ? do you think that this is a good way to play against unexperienced grandfathers like me and Rok ? Really Huh? Smiley))
  • Marco
It seems to me that Rok wants to end my championship career with a lost on this GAR Race
  • Duplode
    (1) It will be unfortunate if you truly retire (or even semi-retire), Marco... (2) I agree that you should really consider getting into competition management. I'm certain you'd be a very good manager! (3) Hey, I'm not that bad of a hider! Cheesy It's just that, in most races, if I don't leave something for the end this little voice inside my head comes to tell me I'm not taking the race 100% seriously. Must be a side effect of too many years racing with the quiet days rule Smiley
  • Duplode
    (4) Answering Cas' question (even though it wasn't aimed at people like me who do race in GAR): as far as OWOOT goes, I tend to enjoy it more without RH, and if the GAR scoreboard was OWOOT + RH I'm not sure I would take part. That's not to say I wouldn't race in a OWOOT + RH competition if there was one (even the one competition I once managed was like that!), but the combination of OWOOT and NoRH helps making the GAR race different enough from the main one in order to get over the barrier Dreadnaut mentioned of having to race twice on the same track.

Sep 28

  • Marco
Yes but you need ltb points or you have already accepted the 2nd position. I have seen that you and Renato have also another competion for the best of all the best.30 to 28 victories if i m not wrong
  • Duplode
Best of all the best? I don't think I even qualify for that fight. Once upon a time, there was a pipsqueak from the South. His name was Ayrton...
  • Cas
Yeah! The Stunts community already has great legends! Cheesy I was lucky to race with Ayrton and Gutix. At that time, I was a better racer, ha, ha. I always ended 5th. Marco, me too, I support you for competition manager. I would continue to race both here and in your tournament. If you need any help setting it up, count on me. Duplode, yes, I guess even us who do play GAR have some preferences as regards rules. In my case, OWOOT vs. shortcuts makes a greater differences than RH vs NoRH, so when I want to play OWOOT, it's OK for me to do it either way. I feel I'm better at OWOOT than shortcuts, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to race with shortcuts too Tongue
  • Marco
Hi Dup i was refering to the medal table Smiley
  • Marco
What car do you think is the best for this race?
  • FinRok
By so far i have found Lancia best 212Mph top speed while Skyline tops at 186Mph Lambo has some "slowdown" bugs?!
  • Duplode
Marco: Yup, that is enjoyably close indeed Smiley I suppose ARG v. BRA is similarly tight right now as well Wink
  • Duplode
As for the car, just from glancing at the map I'm not sure. It looks like a Lancia track, though the long fast stretch at the second half of the track might swing the balance towards Countach (and FinRok: the Countach slowdown -- which I like to call anti-powergear -- can be minimised by not accelerating accelerator e.g. on ramps or while touching the ground after a jump).

Sep 30

  • Marco
Well, it's not properly a good strategy at 22 days from the end but ... this is my last race and ... I can admit that I probably reached my limit. Congrats Rok, I'm quite sure that you can do better .
  • FinRok
Marco yes this escalates too early, i think i still have some "aces up my sleeve" but i'm done for now until finals. My Super Congrats on leading time! Cheesy
  • Marco
Yes i know, on the ending part you can still take something and pass me while I reached my top end... I could not manage to catch some speedup that you took before in the first and middle part ...
